It’s an incredibly versatile paint color that could be the perfect finishing touch in your home. BUT.. There are a few things to consider before you decide that it’s “the one”.

In this article, I’ll go over the LRV and undertones of Accessible Beige, some of its complementary colors, trim color recommendations, and more.

What is the LRV of Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige?

Accessible Beige has a LRV of 58, making it a “light” color. Not quite sure what that means? LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value, and it measures the percentage of light a paint color reflects.

LRV runs on a scale from 0% – 100%, and 50% is a mid-value paint color. The higher the LRV, the more light a color reflects back into the room.

This isn’t necessarily a set standard, but simply a guideline. It’s a tool to help you predict how light or dark any given color will make the room feel.

Wondering where to find this number for other paint colors? Most companies print the LRV on the back of their paint chips.

Accessible Beige Undertones

A soft, subtle neutral, Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige isn’t a true beige — it’s actually a warm greige paint with just a hint of green undertone.

Wait, what?

“Greige” simply means that it’s a blend of gray and beige, leaning more on the beige end. The green undertone helps to keep it from feeling too warm, and it’s barely noticeable in most types of light.

Is Accessible Beige a Warm or Cool Color?

Accessible Beige is a warm, neutral paint color with very little gray/green undertone to help balance it out.

Even in warm southern lighting, it shouldn’t look terribly warm due to the hints of gray and green in it. A north facing room could bring out a bit more of its gray, making it appear slightly cooler.

How Can I Get a Sample?

The absolute best way I’ve found to try out Benjamin Moore paint colors is to order a 12”x12” peel-and-stick sample from Samplize.

Use code FIRSTFIVE for a discount on your first Samplize order!

Here are a few things to love about these samples:

  1. You can easily move them around from room to room.
  2. They cost MUCH less than traditional sample pots, brushes/rollers, and foam board.
  3. They are more environmentally friendly.

Oh — and they arrive at your doorstep in just 1-3 days, which means no more running out to the store for samples (and then going back when you don’t like how they look in your space). You can’t beat that!

Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige Color Palette

An incredibly flexible paint color, Accessible Beige works well with most colors. If you’re considering pairing it with gray, be sure to go for darker grays. Otherwise, it much prefers earth tones over lighter, cooler hues.

How Does It Compare to Other Sherwin Williams Colors?

Trying to decide between Accessible Beige and a similar Sherwin Williams color? Let’s compare it to Kilim Beige and Agreeable Gray.

Accessible Beige vs. Kilim Beige

Another popular Sherwin Williams color, Kilim Beige is more of a true beige while Accessible Beige is actually a greige. Kilim Beige may be lacking that bit of gray and green, but it will really warm up your space with its obvious golden undertones.

Accessible Beige vs. Agreeable Gray

If you’re debating between these two greiges, you’ll want to ask yourself whether you’re leaning toward a warmer or cooler paint color. While Accessible Beige is slightly more beige, Agreeable Gray is slightly more gray. Both have a hint of green undertone.

Trim Color Recommendations

Got trim with orange/yellow undertones? Or darker wood trim? You can absolutely use Accessible Beige on your walls!

But if you’re thinking about painting your trim white, there are some beautiful white paint colors to choose from. Alabaster and Pure White are a couple options that would look great with AB.

Alabaster has a tinge of yellow in its undertones, making it a great option if you need to warm up your interior, and Pure White is a soft white with very little undertone.

Does your trim or flooring have pinkish undertones? You might want to steer clear of Accessible Beige, or it could really bring out the pink in them.

Is Accessible Beige a Good Exterior Color?

Yes, you can definitely use Accessible Beige as an exterior color! Just be aware that colors tend to look lighter in natural light, so it could end up looking more like an off-white than beige or greige.

Consider using a high contrast color with AB, like black or bronze, to accent your trim and other exterior features.

What’s the Benjamin Moore Equivalent?

While you’re not going to find an exact BM match (or an exact match within any other brand), I’d say one of Benjamin Moore’s closest greiges would be Revere Pewter with its very slight greenish undertones. It has a LRV of 55.5, which is just slightly lower than that of AB.
